Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Changing your thoughts and reactions to various stimuli in your environment requires thoughtful and consistent treatment. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is one of the approaches used at Lucida to help you recover from addiction and mental health disorders. CBT allows you to see the positives in life instead of focusing on the stress, traumas or negative events that contributed to self-destructive behavior. CBT also works well in conjunction with other treatment approaches.

Equine Therapy

Winston Churchill said, “The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man.” Horses are nonjudgmental animals, loving unconditionally and providing a strong shoulder to lean on. They connect with people through positive interactions, not through prejudice or estimation. Equine therapy can provide a range of benefits for those healing from addiction and mental health disorders, including building trust and self-esteem, focusing on abilities instead of limitations, and establishing bonds with the horses, therapists and other people in treatment.
