Teo Alfero, Director of the Wolf Connection Program, talks about the “peculiar” therapy with wolves used for the rehabilitation of young adults who suffer from addiction problems or aggressive behavior. This therapy has shown extremely positive results. Young people take daily walks surrounded by wolves and the interaction with the animals has changed their lives. It is an 8-week program, which also includes other activities and relaxation techniques. After completion of the program, it enables young adults to fully reintegrate back into society. Dr. Christopher La Riche, the psychiatrist applying the therapy with wolves says that something changes within these young people when they realize that what they feared most may not be so scary now.
