Promises Behavioral Health believes that intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) for substance use and mental health can be an important step in recovery for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. Intensive Outpatient Program is most effectively used as a step-down from a higher level of care to help in the transition toward independent functioning, or as a step-up in intensity of services when traditional outpatient therapy does not provide enough structure or support. In an effort to make services available to those in geographic locations that prevent in-person Intensive Outpatient Program attendance or those not able to attend office-based therapy sessions, Promises Behavioral Health has made telehealth Intensive Outpatient Program available to clients, using a secure video platform. Our virtual intensive outpatient treatment centers provide clients with necessary tools to maintain long-term recovery.
Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program includes comprehensive diagnostic and biopsychosocial assessment, treatment planning, individual therapy, couple and family therapy, group therapy, psychiatric and medical referrals as needed, support group referrals, and linkage to Promises Rooted alumni network. All of these services are available to clients from the comfort of their own home. Treatment includes:

Amanda Salisbury has been a primary therapist with Promises Five Palms for the last four years. With over six years of professional experience, Amanda has worked with several populations from children in the foster care system to adults suffering from substance abuse. She is trained in both EMDR and CPT to help clients overcome PTSD, especially those with military trauma. Amanda holds an M.A. degree, is a licensed associate professional counselor and is working on becoming a registered mental health counselor intern.
She is excited to lead the P.A.T.H virtual intensive outpatient meetings. These meetings will take place three hours a day, three days a week, plus one individual weekly session. She loves the idea of being able to help clients by utilizing available technology to provide comprehensive therapy while incorporating the comforts and safety of home. She sees this as an exciting opportunity to make therapy technologically interactive while meeting the needs of clients working towards recovery.
