Jim is a licensed mental health counselor, certified addictions professional and an EMDR practitioner with 30 years of experience treating people with substance abuse and mental illness. He holds a Master of Counselor Education degree from Pennsylvania State University. Having previously served as therapist, program director, clinical director, executive director and adjunct professor, Jim brings a wealth of clinical, administrative and academic experience to Lucida. His passion, however, is clinical work.</p><p>Jim takes an integrated, evidenced-based approach to treatment that includes such modalities as motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, Seeking Safety, Gestalt, reality therapy and EMDR. Skilled at addressing complex problems, Jim specializes in the treatment of trauma and related issues. Jim’s empowering strategies promote a clear understanding of issues and provide real and sustainable healing.
